Our Solution

California Green Carbon Sequestration at Scale

Tranquility will be farming our proprietary, non-GMO Nopal Cactus, that has been perfected over 11 years in Portugal. Our patent pending strain, and mechanical planting of Cladodes (cactus “paddle”) rather than seed, allows us to reach full maturity within 9 months and maximizes our primary goal of carbon sequestration for the voluntary carbon exchange.

Rapidly Growing Market

The Voluntary Carbon Futures Exchange market has grown exponentially, and while prices have increased 10 fold over the last two years, a continued exponential price and overall market growth is expected leading up to 2030. Our ROI models are based on 2022 average prices. Demand far exceeds supply and this is only going to accelerate leading up to 2030.

Secondary Markets

The nopal cactus is ideal for carbon sequestration, but the secondary yields are numerous and include biomass, biofuels, fertilizers, protein, supplements, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, livestock feed, cosmetics, and other pharmaceutical applications. These markets will be explored to enhance value.

The voluntary carbon-offset market is expected to grow from $2 billion in 2020 to around $250 billion by 2050.

We Make Green

Tranquility Partners (Tranquility) will be growing prickly pear (Nopal) cactus commercially in Central California, in the San Joaquin Valley – the most productive agricultural region in the world. Our farms will be on former farmland that is now either water restricted or does not allow any irrigation. Tranquility will have access the land for a nominal fee.

Strong Carbon Absorption

The unique CO2 absorption and sequestration properties of the Nopal cactus achieve permanent CO2 reductions by capturing CO2 in the air and injecting it into the soil as oxalate bio-minerals.

Bearing More Than Just Fruit

Nopal Cactus production and farming represents an extraordinary option to create a permanent CO2 (GHG) sequestration mechanism while supporting agriculture and sustainable farming practices.

Nopal cactus (the common name in Spanish for Opuntia cacti or prickly pear cactus) i are highly versatile and thrive natively in Mexico and in the southwestern regions of the Unites States.

Green IP

After more than a decade of intensive work in agriculture science, Tranquility had perfected the ideal varietal for Nopal Cactus commercial agriculture. Through a hybridization process and a rigorous genetic selection of more than 20 species of Nopal Cactus, and years testing in the field, Tranquility has the perfect crop for rapid growth, and dense carbon sequestering plants working in the field.

Breadbasket Of The World

We Know Deserts

Additionality In the Right Place

Additionality In the Right Place

The climate in the Central San Joaquin Valley is a Mediterranean climate and considered a desert. The west side of the valley receives about 6 inches of rain annually, between October and April, with the largest amounts falling in December and January.

Additionality In the Right Place

San Joaquin County, with its 920,000 acres of agriculturally productive land produced $3 billion in agriculture in 2020.  The San Joaquin Valley is the most productive agricultural region in the world, cultivating more than 250 crops.

Exponential ROI

Additionality In the Right Place

Excellent Infrastructure

By drastically reducing farming's largest cost - land - and farming the most effective carbon sequestration crop, Tranquility is providing the most profitable green investment available globally,  all the while achieving significant carbon sequestration.

Excellent Infrastructure

Robotic Planting and Harvesting

Excellent Infrastructure

San Joaquin County has a robust goods movement network, with more than 7,000 lane miles, the Stockton Metropolitan Airport has become an increasingly important regional hub for transporting cargo, and the Port of Stockton, which handles 4.74 million metric tons of cargo in 24 different commodities annually.

Barren to Maturity in 9 Months

Robotic Planting and Harvesting

Robotic Planting and Harvesting

By optimizing the varietal and farming techniques, Tranquility is able to grow newly planted Cladodes to maturity in nine months. Comparing this to other varieties, or from seed which can take three years, the ROI is realized in year one.

Robotic Planting and Harvesting

Robotic Planting and Harvesting

The last four years Tranquility has been perfecting and recently patented robotic planting machines that allow us to plant one hectare every four hours with Cladodes. Tranquility is working on robotic harvesting equipment as well.

Although many companies are working to eliminate emissions entirely, carbon offsets will remain a critical tool in fighting climate change.
